Transition into Year 7
Moving from primary school to secondary school is an exciting time of life, but for many children it can also be a daunting prospect.
Joining a larger school and getting to know new teachers can be challenging for many reasons. At Marlborough we prepare our children for each phase in their education. We support our children to understand what is expected and how to develop further self-confidence to travel alone, seek help if they are struggling and develop social skills to make new friends in high school. Leaving primary school with good values is integral to managing yourself in high school and beyond.
Supporting a strong and successful start to high school with working relationships with receiving high schools, attending open days, transition meetings and opening channels of communication supports all children to leave us ready. An effective and positive transition ensures that teachers know each child and family which ensues continuity of learning that meets the academic and well-being needs of all children.
